Dance focuses on body movements to the rhythm of music. There are many different styles of dance and it would be best to research the different styles to learn what you are interested in.
Gymnastics focuses on strength and flexibility to rotate/propel the body in the different event involved with gymnastics. There is floor which gymnasts mostly use for tumbling, beam for balance showcasing, bars, trampoline, etc.
Cheerleading focuses on promoting spirit, team bonding and good sportsmanship. Cheerleading may incorporate various aspects of dance and tumbling, but each area is more stylized for cheerleading. Cheerleaders focus more on fast paced things rather than being graceful and elegant. Every motion has to be hit sharply with great precision.
Gymnastics is the basis of dance
I've done both and there's definitely a big difference though many think it's the same. In gymnastics, athletes show off the difference things they can do using what equipment they get. For example, jumping on beam. But in acro, you do the same things without any equipment. Acro is also more dance-like, in my acro dance we did pirouettes and leaps and also threw in flips and ariels. While in gymnastics you would do a short routine with as many tricks you could fit in. In short form, acro is basically gymnastics without all the equipment and it's more dance-like.
Why not both!? Dance will help you with gymnastics, and gymnastics will help you with dance! Gymnastics is more of a mental sport, and if you decide to quit once you move up levels and it gets too hard, you can always do dance! Trust me, if you want to do gymnastics, at the minimum take a few ballet classes. They will help you gain flexibility, pointed toes and straight knees as well as your artistry in gymnastics. If you have enough money, I advise you to take dance and gymnastics.
A cheer dance competition is very similar to a regular dance competition, where dancers perform and are judged and awarded medals based on how well they did. Cheerleaders can participate in competitions like this too, where they are judged on their cheer routines and awarded medals.
Jazz.tap,Hip Hop.contempory,Cheer leading,Gymnastics,Ballet, under 12's Jazz, song and dance and jungle beats if you know what they are! Hey If you are looking at this rihgt now my under 12 girls at MJ dance I say you are trying your best this year
In my opinion, yes cheer is better than gymanstics. You can make friends easier because unlike gymnastics it is more of a team sport. Everyone has to work together to either hit a stunt or complete a dance routine. Gymnastics is a necesity for cheer. You are more likely to make a cheer team if you can tumble. Cheerleading in my opinion definitly is more fun than gymastics.

competitive cheerleading means you go against other teams and you compete to win! you also have to have these components in cheerleading: opening, stunts, jumps, cheer (of course!), pyramid, dance, tumbling/gymnastics and the ending.
gymnastics
It's NOT!!!! I personally think that gymnastics is much harder than cheerleading. I did gymnastics since i was small. I made it on team when i was 7, but decied not to join, cause it seemed time consuming. But gymnastics, you have to be very strong, flexible, not scared to try new stuff, and balanced. In gymnastics you have vaut, beam, bars, and floor. In cheer you have cheers, dance, tumbling and stunting. Plus you don't wear shoes in gymnastics. They are the same because they both have tumbling, and they both learn routines, and that's about it.
we do a routine that consists of stunting, tumbling (gymnastics), a cheer, a dance, and jumps. we do sideline cheers at whatever sport games, competitions, and lots of other things.

Im not fully sure what you mean. Here are some possible answers:Women's and men's. The difference here is obviously the gender, as well as the apparatus they perform on.Traditional gymnastics and Rythmic gymnastics. Rythmic gymnasts don't use bar beam or vault, they perform highly choreographed routines on floor, using props such as a ball, hoop, or rope.Artistic gymnastics or power gymnastics: Artistic gymnasts incorporate more graceful dance elements into their routines
