Position your feet so they are in a 'v', and then, keeping your heels together, move your toes outwards. When your 'turn out' is better you will be able to get them so they are a horizontal line.

First position with the arms has the arms held out, with the palms of the hands across from the bellybutton (or slightly lower). Elbows should be slightly rounded, and shoulders down.
