Ballet is used as a performing art. It uses the form of movement and dance/mime to express stories and ideas through movement. It was developed back during the 16th Century and has continuously been improved and developed. Today nearly all countries have a Ballet Company that is regarded as 'High Art'. That is, it is of importance in the art world due to the structure, and sophistication. More input Uh... dancing, really. But it's also used as exercise and as physical therapy. Not to mention entertainment. Ballet is an art. It's a sport. It's an exercise. It's a hobby. It's meditation. It's therapy. It's a way of life.
