I think it would be ballet because it comes from the Nutcracker Ballet.
Ballet Dancers
It depends on your favorite type of dance. If you like more modern ballet, you would go with the English ballet. If you enjoy classical ballet, you would probably vote Russian. Personally, I like both.
Ballet was originated many years ago. Most of the steps in ballet today are said in french, so I would say that ballet is french.

A Tuxedo. Would that be the same as a dinner suit. It may be. Depending on the definition of a dinner suit. A formal ball would entail a man wearing 'black tie' attire.

For a special occasion it is often more appropriate for a lady to wear a dress, but would partially depend on whether formal or casual attire is suggested by the host.

Dress is what is meant by attire. You may receive receive an invitation specifying formal dress. That would mean formal attire. It is what you are wearing.
Elegant attire and formal attire are similar in wear, with only minor differences. Elegant attire is usually worn at balls or requested events. Individuals invited to an event by the Queen of England would wear elegant attire. Formal attire is usually worn to a wedding.
If you are a man, you can now get away with a nice pair of jeans and a nice button up shirt with a collar. If you are a women I would suggest a nice dress that isn't too revealing and that is simple in design.

yes it is because when it is close to Christmas i would buy one because it reminds you of a Christmas carol.and the play of the nutcracker
