Ballet is an extremely hard art form, as is anything after you get past the beginner level. It has a lot to do with focus, flexibility, strength, perseverance, and discipline.
The physical aspects can either be the easiest for you or the hardest. People who are naturally flexible will have the time to focus on other things while people who don't bend as easily have to work on it. Also, sometimes parts of your body just won't bend the way you want them to. In my case, my hips are really tight and no matter what I do, my knees won't hyperextend.
There's also all of the strength that dancers work on; their feet, ankles, legs, arms, core. Almost everything has to be strong. But it isn't normal strength. It's a very specific strength that helps with balancing, executing moves correctly, and holding the correct posture at all times.
But sometimes the hardest thing is all the mental stuff; being able to work through the pain or discomfort to make yourself look relaxed and effortless. The difference between being a technically good dancer and a wonderful performer is all mental.
I hope this helps! And remember, despite how hard it seems, the joy of dancing will always pay off in the end.
