Some women wear underwear under tights and some do not. Tights are made to be worn without underwear, but many people do still wear them.
For girls, only a bra. No underwear because it will show under you leotard. For boys, underwear thatis it under tights Leo and shorts
Male ballet dancers wear a specifically designed undergarment called a "dance belt" that has a strong pouch to support their genitals, prevent injury, and create an non-detailed bulge in front, with a thong rear to minimize show-through lines.
Most tights have a cotton crotch which replaces the need to wear underwear with tights. Most of the preschool age children in my studio wear panties, it does take some getting used to. We ask at recital, that no one wears them so there are no panty lines or showing panties while onstage with their costume.
You usually wear tights under a leotard, but sometimes you might need to wear a bra... Usually warm-ups (including shirts, sweatshirts, pants, wool tights, jumpsuits, and sweaters) are worn on the outside of the leotard. You are not supposed to wear underwear under your leotard because it looks amateurish and not very neat, but some and/or most little ballet dancer (4-6 years old) wear underwear. They usually grow out of this habit, though. (:

Please don't wear panties to school. Pantyhose/Tights were made to be worn with or without panties (optional). That's why they replaced stockings (which only go up to the thigh, at most). Most tights have a cotton crotch which replaces the need to wear underwear with tights ;-)
If you want, I don't and it makes me feel great but not everybody does, but it can make you easier to be shaged by your boyfriend or anybody else

Irish dancers don't wear bloomers, but wear more of a pair of giant knickers.-Actually yes, they do wear bloomers. I am an Irish dancer and most people wear bloomers under their dress so when they kick high, you don't see their underwear. Some people wear tights instead of bloomers, but only if it matches their dress.
Yeah,you can.
I swim in nylon tan tights all the time. they can't really be seen in the water under your costume but if you don't feel comfortable then wear a costume that has a little skirt attached. my sister swims with full underwear under her costume, bra, panties and tights and it doesn't bother her who sees so just do what you feel.
I prefer underwear, but you can wear either.
