i also have the same rifle and have been researching it, i found few things and i am relaying them to you. if you go to the sears parts direct home page, www.searspartsdirect.com and under search by model # type in the model number on your barrell, not mod. 54, the other number, mine was 273.811, after that a whole layout of my rifle came out with every part in it, so i called the number to order parts underneath, and they said they don't Cary the parts anymore, however, they have a copy of the face of the owners manual, and the date listed under my model number was 08-06-87, i don't know if that was when the rifle was made or when the last time the made the owners manual, i hope i was of some help
No. Serial numbers were not required until 1968 on rifles. Most have a Sears model number that is mistaken for a serial number
Your Sears model 54 is a Winchester model 1894 rifle that was made for sears. If Winchester used the same serial number sequence as their serial numbers for the Model 1894,then your rifle was made in the year 1955.
tha date is on the tag directly below where you found the model number. If its not there, you need to take the serial number into sears and they can tell you. tha date is on the tag directly below where you found the model number. I can say that a sears model 54 was produced by Winchester. The model is a Winchester model 1894.I may help more but your listing of another model number and serial number is confusing. There should be only one model number and one serial number. Please check your numbers again and I may be able to help you more.
Yes, the Sears Model 54 was made by Winchester and used the Winchester Model 54 serial numbers. Your serial number puts the rifle at being made in 1930 or 1931.
the model number is #57158762 and serial number is 7621447
Happened to recognize that as a Sears model number. Your gun was made for Sears in the early 1960s. It is a Springfield (by Savage) model 947. It probably has no serial number, as they were not required on shotguns prior to 1968.
There should be a model and serial number plate or sticker located either on the frame or under the seat. The engine also has a serial number and model on he base of the engine .
The 583.880 is not the serial #, that is the Sears part number. The serial number will be on the other side of the frame.
it was made by Winchester for sears basically its a model 70 Winchester.
