Kenya is a country with diverse interests; cities like Nairobi are modern and cosmopolitan. People who live in the cities enjoy some of the same things that Americans do-- movies, music, athletic events, going to shopping malls, etc. Since Kenya was at one time a British colony, sports like football (what Americans call "soccer"), Rugby, and cricket are popular, and many young Kenyans get involved in long and short-distance competitive running. Kenyans enjoy going to concerts-- while they like American and British music (hip-hop, rap, rock, etc), there are also indigenous folk traditions, and local artists who sing hit songs in both the English and Swahili languages.
