From Jason de Ruasha reporting on WCCO: In the NBA, the average player can jump between 28-32 inches high. On the Minnesota Timberwolves, Randy Foye has been measured at a 38 inch vertical leap. Vince Carter's 43" jump is one of the best in the NBA today. Michael Jordan flew through the sky at that same height in his heyday. But 5-foot-7 Spud Webb got even higher, jumping at least 46 inches, nearly four feet in the air.

A Pro-Hop is a move that is more formally known as the "jump-stop" or "jump-step." A jump-step is when you are driving or moving with the ball and then putting both hands on the ball to do a jump towards any direction you wish, landing on both feet at the same time. If you don't land on your feet at the same time, it is considered a travel. After you land, you can only jump, pass, or score- not move. You cannot move at all after you land.
The past tense of "jump" is "jumped" and the past tense of "hop" is also "hopped."
