i currently run cross country, and the best way to prepare for a meet is to run for about a month straight taking weekend off. Run about 45-50 minutes. In this time you will probably run over the 3 mile it takes to run a XC course. Before the race make sure you drink water and stretch properly. Hope this helps! :)

Eat properly the night before, get hydrated and get the right amount of sleep.
