I keep my bows strung if I'm shooting them regularly, but I un-string them if it's going to be more than a few days idle. Just remember to check your brace height when you restring and shoot a few times.I would not advise using oil of any kind on your bow. A good rub down with a clean terry cloth towel is all I ever do. But I would defer to the maufacturers recommendations on that topic. Use bees wax on your string. Martins make nice traditional bows good luck and have fun!
One can find out where cowboy action shooting is done from various websites like SASSNet and Pistoinz. Both websites offer a variety of information including about cowboy action shooting.

You would think so, wouldn't you? well, its not done shooting. not quite yet. atleast, i don't think so. because, if they knew that they were going to be done shooting so soon, don't you think they would've came up w/an earlier realse date. or maybe they picked that date because, on that exact dat, November 20th, twilight came out. does that really answer your question?
July 26th, 1764...... To be fair this was not a "shooting" as it was done by indians with tomahawks. The first shooting was when Matthew Ward shot schoolmaster Mr Butler, Nov 2 1853 in Knoxville Tennessee.
