before 2000 there were many accidents with the older design, alot of the accidents resulted in deaths.
it was redesigned after 2000 and been used since, it has also been proved that with more surface area it is much safer due to the complex of some of the tricks now a days. This new design includes springs so you can get a little more lift.
I used to be in gymnasitcs for 15 years, and got out of it due to injuries, but i would have loved to try this new design out.
