There is no official "winner" of the Olympic games. Different countries tabulate the winner in different ways. North America and some European countries count the total medals, while most of the rest of the world count only the gold medals, because you have won the most events you are deemed to win the entire Olympics.

The United States of America won the overall medal count. They won a winter games record 37 medals. Germany was second in line with 30 medals, and Canada was third with 26 medals.

However, Canada won the most gold medals. They also set a winter games record of 14 gold medals. Germany was second with 10 gold medals.
