Baseball was played as a demonstration sport at the 1964 Games in Tokyo. One game was played between a team of American amateurs and a team of Japanese amateurs. The game was played at Meiji-Jingu Stadium in Tokyo with the Americans winning, 6-2.

Meiji-Jingu Stadium opened in 1926 and is still in use today. It is the home of the Yakult Swallows of the Central League.
