The sport of Pankration was one of the sports in the original Olympic games. The name when translated into English means no holds barred (Literally 'all to be strong). It is similar to Wrestling but allows kicking etc as well and the contestants aim to survive or escape as much as to win.

Pankration rounds were usually between two competitors. The Greek games had four rounds with a total of 16 athletes. The largest competition was said to have had nine rounds with a total of 512 contestants.
