Yes. During the 1992-1993 season Teemu Selanne set the current rookie record for goals (76) and points. Since that magical 1992-1993 hockey season no other hockey player has scored as many goals as Teemu. In subsequent seasons Teemu has achiever over 50 goals on numerous occassions. In addition to Teemu's defence as the best hockey player, during the 2006 Olympics Teemu captained his Finnish team to the Olympic finals, skating around his opponents. This indicated that Teemu Selanne is the greatest player on the Olympic size rink.
Teemu Selanne, once voted Finland's sexiest man, is best known for his long record breaking career as a professional ice-hockey player. Selanne holds the all-time points record at the Winter Olympic Games where he has represented Finland 5 times. Due to his skill and speed on the ice, Selanne is known as 'The Finnish Flash'. He is currently the oldest player in the National Hockey League (NHL).
An Olympic record is the greatest achieved in the Olympic games. A world record is the greatest achieved anywhere, ever. In some instances an Olympic record is also the world record.
No they are not the same. A World Record can be broken at any time. Whereas an Olympic Record can only be broken at the Olympic Games (it's a glorified Meet Record.) Keep in mind that a World Record CAN be set at the Olympic Games (which would in turn, automatically break the Olympic Record as well.) A World Record outranks an Olympic Record.
