Yes. After the lighting of the Olympic cauldron and the release of the pigeons, a member of the host nation's team mounts the rostrum, takes a corner of the Olympic flag in their left hand, raises their right hand, and recites the oath: "In the name of all the competitors I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, committing ourselves to a sport without doping and without drugs, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport and the honour of our teams." This is followed by a judge from the host country mounting the rostrum, taking the Olympic flag in their left hand, raising their right hand, and reciting the judge's oath: "In the name of all the judges and officials, I promise that we shall officiate in these Olympic Games with complete impartiality, respecting and abiding by the rules which govern them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship."
"While rendering the salute to the Texas Flag, a person should stand erect, face the Texas Flag and hold their right hand over the heart." I think it has been changed, it "used" to be that you face the Texas flag and hold you hand out to where you elbo is at your side and our hand is out.
The salute is made with the right hand over the heart, the standard civil, not military, flag salute.
US flag etiquette is: Remove your headwear and place your right hand over your heart (palm in), or hold your headgear to your left shoulder, again with your right hand over your heart.
When holding or carrying the flag it should be against your chest with your left middle finger tip over the right middle finger nail with both hands flared (i.e. flat with all fingers together). Once you are ready to pass the flag slowly bring your right hand up and grasp the left side by the point and slowly turn the flag so the point is facing down. Keep your left hand on the flat and once the flag is turned grasp it with the left hand and lower the flag until it is parrallel to the ground. At this point the person receiving the flag will take it, left hand on top and right hand on the bottom (flared), and slowly bring it to their chest placing left middle finger back over the right like stated above. The passer of the flag will render a 3 second salute.
