That's what im wondering...
There were no Summer Olympics held in the year 2009.
I'm not sure what this means, but one of these is probably the answer. Either China (Beijing) has hosted the Olympic Games ONCE - in 2008. Or China hosted the Summer Games of the 29th Olympiad (of the modern era) in 2008. Or China hosted the 26th celebration of the (Summer) Games (as the Games in three of the 29 Olympiads were not celebrated due to the World Wars) in 2008.
Switzerland, Great Britain and Greece
England along with Switzerland and France are the only three countries to have participated in every summer and winter Olympic games. English athletes have won 780 medals in summer and 22 medals in winter Olympics games.
The 1992 Barcelona Olympics were the first in three decades to be held without a boycott.
The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad, are scheduled to take place in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. London will become the first city to officially host the modern Olympic Games three times, having previously done so in 1908 and in 1948.
Only one. Just London
Fiji first participated in the Olympics at the 1956 Summer Games in Melbourne. Since then, Fiji has competed in all Summer Games except 1964 and 1980. Fiji has also competed in three Winter Olympics (1988, 1994, 2002). Fiji has never won an Olympic medal.
Karch Kiraly. Karch won gold in indoor volleyball at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Games and in beach volleyball at the 1996 Summer Games.
The first time the Summer Olympics were in London was in 1908. The second time was in 1948. London is the only city to have hosted the modern Summer Olympics three times, and the United Kingdom is one of only two countries that has hosted more than two modern Summer Olympics to date (the other is the United States, which has hosted four).
