No Olympics have yet been held in a Muslim country as such. However, the 1984 Winter Olympiad was held in Sarajevo, capital of what was then the Yugoslavian province of Bosnia & Herzegovina and a largely Muslim city. When Bosnia & Herzegovina declared independence in 1992, the country and city had one of the largest Muslim populations (the Bosniaks) in Europe. Today, the majority of Sarajevo's population, 45%, is counted as Muslim. Muslim countries that have vied for an Olympics include Turkey, Qatar, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Pakistan

No. The Middle East, The Subcontinent of Asia, and The Caribbean are amongst several major geographic regions that have yet to host the Olympic Games.
