According to the Wall Street Journal, this year (2012) NBC made an estimated $200 million more than predicted. Sound impressive? Of course. However, the predicted income was -$200 million. This year, NBC managed to break even, rather than lose money. NBC does not make money off the Olympics, they just try to lose the least.
