Replacing traditional incandescent bulbs with CFLs can save up to 75% of electricity used for lighting. This means that using CFLs can significantly reduce energy consumption and electricity bills. Additionally, CFLs have a longer lifespan than incandescent bulbs, further contributing to energy savings.
Replacing traditional incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) can save around 75% of electricity used for lighting in Indian homes. CFLs are more energy-efficient and have a longer lifespan, making them a cost-effective choice for reducing electricity consumption. By making the switch to CFLs, households can contribute to lower electricity bills and environmental conservation efforts.
The cost of CFLs was minimised by government subsidy, but in the UK that is now removed and the cost per bulb has risen to £3-4 each.
MPLO stands for Municipal Public Lighting Organizations.
VIR stands for Voltage Input Rating in lighting. It refers to the maximum voltage that a lighting fixture can safely handle. It is important to match the voltage input of the fixture with the voltage available in the installation location to prevent damage or malfunction.
CFLS stands for Certified Family Law Specialist. It is an acronym used in California and describes a lawyer specialized in family law (eg. divorce and child custody).
Lighting is not one of the major electrical costs in a house, especially if CFL (compact fluorescent lamps) or LED bulbs are used. If lighting costs are an issue, get rid of incandescent bulbs and halogen bulbs. CFLs are cheaper and nearly as efficient as LEDs.

I'm a big fan of LED lights even though they are more expensive than CFLs because they last longer than fluorescent bulbs and don't contain any mercury. (So you don't have to worry about taking them some place special to dispose of them.) Some of the leading manufacturers for LEDs are LBL Lighting, Tech Lighting, Kichler Lighting, CSL Lighting, and Maxim Lighting and they are all carried at discount prices on Affordablelamps.com I wrote a blog post about LEDs (http://blog.affordablelamps.com/2011/04/12/led-lights-the-lighting-possibilities-abound/) and here is a page about LED lighting: http://www.affordablelamps.com/led-lighting.html Hope that helps!
