The Barnett Vortex Jr. comes with a cheap junk rest that is a disgrace to the bow I have replaced them with a hostage or a whisker biscuit and they really help the bow to perform much better.

What arrow rest would you need for a right handed bow a right or a left?

The arrow rest for a recurve bow should be on the left side to you while you are holding the grip of a right handed bow (pulling the string with your right hand while holding your bow with your left).

Why does your arrow kick sideways when you shoot your recurve bow?

You could be plucking the bow string, make sure to shoot with your finger tips only, remain still (arms, body and head)and release the string off the tips. Your arrow rest could be protruding to much, causing the arrow to richochet off it. Your arrow could be to thin for the poundage of the bow, causing it to warp on release. Make sure that you 'nock' the arrow properly. Your arrow might not be the right spline weight for your bow.

What is the name for the container that holds the arrows?

A quiver if you have them for use, but not drawn. A rest if it is used to hold the arrow in place during the draw.

Why is a compound bow not used in the Olympics?

Until the past few years, Compound bows were mainly sold in the United States. Many countries did not have access to the equipment. Now that the rest of the world has caught up in technology, the IOC is thinking about allowing compounds in the 2016 Olympiad.

Can you provide a detailed breakdown of the components and features of a compound bow?

A compound bow consists of a riser, limbs, cams, strings, cables, and a grip. The riser is the central part where the limbs are attached. Limbs store and release energy when the bow is drawn. Cams control the draw weight and speed of the bow. Strings and cables transfer energy from the limbs to the arrow. The grip is where the archer holds the bow. Compound bows often have features like a sight, arrow rest, stabilizer, and peep sight to improve accuracy and performance.

What is the process of placing the arrow shaft on the bows arrow rest and pulling the arrow back until the string snaps into the slot?

The process of placing the arrow shaft on the bow's arrow rest involves positioning the arrow so that its nock fits securely on the bowstring. Once the arrow is in place, the archer pulls back the bowstring while maintaining a steady grip on the bow handle. As the string is drawn back, the nock will slide into the groove or slot of the bowstring, ensuring proper alignment. This setup prepares the arrow for release, allowing for an accurate shot when the string is released.

What is the difference between a multiple vortex tornado and a single vortex tornado?

A multiple vortex tornado has smaller, short-lived vortices moving around inside of it. The suction vortices have stronger winds than the rest of the tornado and are noted for cutting narrow curved swaths of intense damage. A multiple vortex tornado sometimes has the appearance of two or more tornadoes moving circles. A single vortex tornado is simply one vortex of tornadic wind.

Why does your arrow kick up or down?

The arrow "kicks" up and/or down because the nock end hits the arrow rest (or arrow shelf, if the bow does not have a separate arrow rest) as the arrow leaves the bow. This usually occurs because the nocking point (where you place the arrow on the bowstring) is too high or too low, but it can be caused by the fletching either being out of alignment or simply too large for the type of rest being used. This problem may also be that your fall away rest is not dropping properly.Other reasons may be too light-weight of a point on the arrow, or the nock-end of the arrow is "dragging" on something during the release (fingers, etc).Bows do not act like firearms (guns) when used: There is no recoil to "kick" the bow or arrow up or down, nor is there any energy being expended to push the bow back towards the archer. The only real transfer of energy in a properly tuned bow/arrow setup is from bow to the arrow, by way of the bowstring. If the bow moves enough to affect arrow flight, it is generally because the person using the bow has moved their hand and/or arm.

What does Multiple vortex mean?

This term most likely refers to a multiple-vortex tornado. A tornado is itself a vortex that can sometimes contain two or more smaller vortices that move with the tornado's rotation. These vortices pack stronger winds than the rest of the tornado, and often result in areas within a tornado's path where damage is more severe than it is elsewhere.
