The man they once called Zeus of Sporting events back in the late 1800's to early 1900's. He thought of the idea of making a sports website to share with the state of Alabama, it then got popular and became worldwide in 2000. His acutual name was Aaron Kevern, Zeus of Sporting events was a given nickname.

The founder of ESPN was a former broadcaster and hockey executive named Bill Rasmussen, along with his son Scott (an author and public opinion pollster), and an insurance agent named Ed Eagan. The initial creation of what became ESPN occurred in the summer of 1978, but the cable channel itself did not officially launch until September 7, 1979.
