IPL can not be used on very dark skin and is ineffective on red, blonde and grey hair, Elos overcomes these drawbacks. The lower light intensity also makes the treatment more comfortable (i.e IPL can be a little painful with a sharp heat sensation). Finally and importantly for home use systems, the lower level of light intensity required for elos make a treatment far faster. For example treating with the Philips Lumea on the legs is very impractical and would take a whole morning. There is a new Elos in-home system called 'Me, My Elos about to be launched in the UK, Italy, Germany, France, etc. This enables a full leg treatment in only 10 minutes and a whole body treatment in 30 mins.
