And he also led the A. L. in being struck out in 1960, after having that same distinction in 1958 and '59. By the way, Mantle's Yankees team won the A. L. pennant five times in the 1960 and captured two World Series in 1961 and '62.

Mantle was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977
