School volleyball generally starts 3 weeks before school begins (August) but a lot of schools have open gyms every week. It goes until early November...sometimes later depending on how well your team does.
Club volleyball usually starts mid November...following school. My tryouts this year were November 11th weekend. I just found out what team I'm on, and practices will start in several weeks. Tournaments begin in January usually, and depending on your team level/age go until March-June.
