the ship had hit an iceburg and it started falling at the front. everybody started going to the back of the boat or they either started jumping of the ship as the ship had flooded, they didnt have any other choice but to jump of the titanic. there was only one surviver. there could have been two, but the boy killed himself to save the girl. she was the only surviver. mostly everyone else had died or either froze to death.

After hitting an iceberg the RMS Titanic began to sink slowly. As water filled her bows she began to tilt until at one point her back end was sticking straight up out of the water. She then snapped in half with the front end sinking and the back end slamming hard onto the water creating waves and killing those passengers that had fallen below and were trying to swim away. The back end then began to tilt until it to sank rapidly below, creating a suction of sorts that took many passengers along with it. Many drowned during this time due to the suction and other passengers that were fighting for their own survival by clinging to the people around them.
First, this is what happened. The Titanic just left Southampton Dock when it almost collided with the SS New York.
Second, on the ocean, all these other boats were telling the Titanic about ice locations when they ignored it. They didn't care. They ended up striking the iceberg on the starboard side of the boat on April 14, 1912.
Hope this answers your question.
The Titanic tragedy occurred because the ship hit an iceberg that caused water to pour into the ship, split it in half, then raise itself and sink vertically straight down into the Atlantic Ocean. The captain was aware of the dangers of the icebergs but still continued at fast speeds in hopes of ending his career on its strongest note by arriving in New York a day earlier than anticipated. Because of this carelessness and lifeboat space for only about half of its passengers, the Titanic sank and thousands of people perished with it.
