Patrick left ESPN after 18 years, to pursue syndication. He also has a nice deal with XM radio now where he seems to have more freedom to run the show which direction he pleases without having corporate mandates or talking points. On the first anniversary of his new radio show, he answered that question. He said he was approached by management with the strong suggestion that he gain some weight, take a" before" photo, drop the weight he gained, shoot the "after" photo, and become a NutriSystems Spokesman. He said he didn't like the idea at all, thought it might even be unhealthy, and still they pressed. He said basically that made his mind up for him.
