he was the best he played when he was 55 and still threw harder then anyone of that generation. they compared him to Walter Johnson once they put paige on top, yes Johnson had more strike outs and shut outs but satchel would always do anything they coach wanted and he once had a season record of 41-3. so yea he ws good to say the least.
