It depends what event do you want to train for? because i myself run the 1600m and usually i go run like 3-5 miles depending on how i am feeling and sometimes some speed workouts. It just depends what event you are planning on running now if you are running the 400meters I'm assuming you lift weight and you do a lot of strength training. It just depends.

Personally I like to listen to music the day of or during your warmup , also picture your race in your head often the whole thing how each part should feel and what to do then in a race don't think just do

-pasta dinner the night before (superstition)

-go on a short run the day before

-stretch alot

-do some strides

-listen to lots of pump up music

-make sure to sleep
