Benjamin Boukpeti is Togo's only Olympic medalist, winning a bronze medal in men's slalom kayak singles at the 2008 Games in Beijing. He was also the first Togo Olympian to reach the semifinals in an event, doing that at the 2004 Games in Athens in men's slalom kayak singles. He ultimately finished 18th in 2004.
