Yes, in the 1970s and 1980 many Rabbits came into Canada from Germany and became quite common, competing for space and resources with domestics as well as other foreigners. Undersized and not particularly appealing, the German Rabbits started to die off in the face of newer foreign imports. It is indeed very rare to see one of these invaders in recent years, although some of their European cousins can be found in substantial numbers in some parts of Canada.
