They don't! You have to be sure to go before a race, and MAKE yourself go even if you don't feel like you have to pee because as soon as you strap in to that harness, your bladder is getting squeezed. If you are doing a long endurance race / through the desert / through the night, etc, etc it's not uncommon if it's an "emergency" to just go (number one of course) and worry about cleaning the race suit later. I cant imagine ever having a number two emergency and then sitting in that for hours....ewww. :)

You need to make sure you have enough gas, etc... Gas is the responsibilities of pit crew... the driver needs to make sure he maintains the gas he is given and still keep pace with the other drivers and most of all DO HIS BEST TO NOT WREAK AND WIN!!!
