They have to qualify. Only the top 43 fastest cars get in. Usually the SPEED channel shows the qualifying on Thursday, or Friday.
nothing really the only top speed you need for a car is 70 or whatever the top speed limit in your country is but cars like the bugatti veyron your paying for the look and tech not the speed cause unless u race it you wont get to that speed
All race cars in the top 3 nascar touring series have 4 speed transmissions.
"According to research, the top speed in Honda Odyssey cars is 119 miles per hour."
The on-screen speedo's top speed incates 270 km/h so I would imagine 260 km/h would be possible. This speed would rarely be achieved during any race. The track with the longest straight would be a good indicator of the cars top speed.
It depends on the car. Some cars have a top speed of about 100 miles per hour or a little more. Most cars will have a top speed of more than 100 MPH. Some high performance cars, such as the Corvette, have a top speed of closer to 200 MPH, and some really high performance, or exotic, cars have a top speed of more than 200 MPH. All that said though, some cars have a top end limiter. For instance, my car has an advertised top end speed of 185, but it has a top end limiter which limits the speed to about 170.
The top speed of a 2014 Silverado is roughly 105 miles per hour. For cars older than this the top speed may be less.
F1 cars never really get up to their absolute top speed as even in qualifying, they wouldn't get to their max speed. To get to high speed at tracks like Monza and SPA during a qualifying race weekend session. Low downforce with aero stream can help to get a F1 car to it top speed at the track. For off track, it those with a long enough road bearing in mind tyres can explode and to have enough fuel to get to speed without effecting performance.
You forgot to add: NASCAR race cars also have carbs. Fuel injection systems simply do not have the power or top speed. Most of the "muscle cars" from the 70's (and other cars), all had Carbs back then.
