Johnny is physically, emotionally, and verbally abused by his parents. He feels worthless and suicidal. The only support he gets is from his gang friends. He is afraid of the Socs because they brutally beat him up a few years ago. Even though he has a horrible childhood, he still manages to try and do the right thing. He is a good person and is never mean to anyone. He tries to help people when he can.
