Dale Sr.'s memorial service was held at Charlotte's Calvary Church. This church is a non denominational church founded in 1939. The church was probably used for Dale Sr.'s memorial service because it's worship space holds 5000 people. Dale Sr.'s was buried in a private family at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Mooresville, N.C. The Lutheran pastor at St. Mark's was reported as the family's pastor in the press. Dale Jr. has not publicly professed a denominational affiliation, although he has spoken about a belief in God. I don't think you can surmise Dale Jr.'s has an affiliation with the Lutheran church or Calvary Church just because Dale Sr.'s funerals were held there. Teresa Earnhardt, Dale Sr.'s spouse, would have been responsible for his funeral arrangements.

I read in a NASCAR Illustrated article a few years back that he was Christian and that he gave a lot of money to his church.
