There is not a direct correlation between horse power and speed. There are a number of other factors that uses the horse power to make the speed. You can take the same 30 horse power and put it in a number of applications and get a difference in speed of 8 mph on a 30 hp lawn mower to 150 plus mph on a 30 hp motorcycle.
