It varys on tracks i know on a 3/8 mile track about 80 M.P.H not much but it still fast. I do race a Late Model so i do have experience an i know what im talking about i been racing a Late Model since i was 9 years old.

It depends on how far back you want to go, they raced some of the very first cars ever made, and a Horse could beat them. In 1915 a Stutz Motor Car qualified for the pole at the Indy 500 at the amazing speed of 98.900 mph., it progressively got faster from then on.
