How to adjust timing chain Yamaha sr125
get on ur kneese
Timing chain diagram or how to set it
Loosen the axle nut and rotate the chain adjuster to the same position on both sides of the swingarm until you obtain the correct chain slack, then tighten the axle nut.
IT'S PRETTY EASY. IT'S 2 BOLTS WITH LOCK NUTS ON THE TOP OF THE CARRIER, AND 2 NUTS ON THE SIDE WHERE THE BRAKE ROTOR IS. JUST LOOSEN THESE NUTS ON THE SIDE AND THE LOCK NUTS AND BOLTS ON THE TOP. SCREW THEM IN IT TIGHTENS OR LOOSEN THEM AND IT LOOSENS THE CHAIN. SOMETIMES I KICK THE BACK TIRES TO THE FRONT IT HELPS IF IT'S BEEN AWHILE SINCE YOU HAVE CHANGED THE POSITION.
the top timing gear has a dot the case has a line line them up same for the bottom the chain is to be connected on the top mark.the valves will need to be adjusted if adjust the timing the front valve is the exhaust the rear valve is the intake. this is not correct answer. there is 3 timing marks on the magneto, and two ways to set the top gear....help !!!
according to the service manual the cam chain is not adjustable. you must replace it or the tensioner if it is noisy. mine make's a rattling noise at idle and need's to be replaced.
The timing chain tensioner bolt sticks out the back left side of the cylinder head. Take the timing chain cover off on the left side of the motor too see the inside to the chain tensioner.
how do u change the timing chain on a Yamaha timberwolf
Adjust the sprocket of the chain
The engine in the Polaris Sportsman 500 is self adjusting. There is no need to adjust the timing chain on the Sportsman 500. If you are hearing the chain slap, it is time to replace the chain, not adjust it.
