1. Remove belt/clutch cover 2. Pull out old belt, should pull in easily at secondary sheave, spimply walk it out then remove it from primary 3. Inspect all clutch components - anything is out of spec repair it 4. Install new belt in similar reverse order 5. Check/adjust belt deflection (by shimming secondary) 6. Install clutch cover 7. Test drive

How do you adjust the transmission belt on a 2001 polaris scrambler 500 4x4?

To adjust the transmission belt on a 2001 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4, first, ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the engine is off. Remove the clutch cover by unscrewing the retaining screws, then check the belt's wear and tension. If the belt is worn, replace it; otherwise, adjust the belt by loosening the clutch mounting bolts and repositioning the clutch for proper tension. Finally, reattach the clutch cover and ensure everything is secure before testing the vehicle.
