Most teams use what's known as a "Cool Helmet", which is essentially an air-conditioned helmet.

They also stay cool by drinking plenty of fluids and putting flat ice packs in their driver suits.

NASCAR drivers usually stay out of the public eye behind the scenes before the race. Sometimes they are doing interviews, making sure they have been to the bathroom and talking to their friends, owners and pit crew.

How racing cars prepare for a race.

  • the steering wheel in most formula cars setup traction, throttle reaction, and gearbox settings.
  • Most cars are raced by a team, such as Williams BMW & Ferrari.
  • Finally, at race time, cars are lead by a pace car to start race. while starting, cars swivel on track. this is so that when slick tires heat up and become sticky, they get grip.
