Jeff Gordon had an awesome childhood, after his mom and dad were divorced.

His step dad was more like a father to him than his actual father.

John Bickford, his step dad, ran a racing shop and it got Jeff into the sport.

When Jeff was 5 he started racing Quarter Midgets, at 10 he started racing Sprint cars and when he was 15 he started racing Stock cars.

As you can see by his driving, Jeff was influenced by Dale Earnhardt. Jeff has talked about the man in interviews. It is not hard to see.
