Yes. He drove the pink 1956 Ford Victoria number K-2 very early in his career. In 1982 Earnhardt left Rod Osterlund and spent the '82 and '83 seasons behind the wheel of the #15 Wrangler Ford Thunderbird for Bud Moore. He began racing for Richard Childress in '84 in what amounted to a driver swap with Ricky Rudd.

The 1956 Ford Victoria was Dale Sr's first dirt track car. In 1978 Dale drove a #96 Ford in four races for Will Cronkrite.
