You can put intercooler on any car regardless of kind of transmission.
A car can run with out an intercooler, but if it was designed to have an intercooler, the driveabilty will be affected.
yes
An intercooler is used to cool intake air in a turbocharged vehicle, which your car is not, and increase the charge density. So to answer your question, No. If you want the look of an intercooler they do sell cosmetic mock ups that you could mount behind your bumper, but this is just a cosmetic fix.
12 cylinder engine twin turbo stock intercooler
I suspect one will be an intercooler for the turbo
Go to http://www.rpw.com.au and they have turbo kits for the M21. The engine in your car is the same engine that comes with a turbocharger in Mitsubishi cars, so everything will bolt right up. The main difference is, your engine has higher compression, so if you were to buy a stock Mitsubishi turbo kit (used or new) to install on your engine, you'd have to either buy an aftermarket intercooler or get used to buying 94+ octane gas... The upside will be, if you buy an intercooler, you're motor will have a much higher horsepower rating than the same turbo engine in a stock Mitsubishi due to your higher compression. If you do not use an intercooler I promise you that detonation will destroy your engine! Have fun!
The normal direction of airflow is air filter to turbo, to intercooler, to engine. The normal direction of airflow is air filter to turbo, to intercooler, to engine.
i run mine at 20psi with an intercooler, stock it 11.5psi. runs fine on 20psi completely stock apart from 2.5" exhaust
make sure you have not blow your turbo. If you did not blow the turbo you might have put a hole into the intercooler. This will cause you to use a ton of gas
Yes and No. Intercoolers cool air that is compressed in a turbo. You can setup an intercooler on a non turbo car and have it connected to the air intake and such... .....it will rob you of horsepower by sending air through a lot of unnecessary tubes.
you can put 5 exaust pipes on any car but stock not many
