I think, the year 1950 was officially the first F1 season. The first race was held in Silverstone, England on May 13, 1950. The race, contested over 58 laps, was won by Giuseppe Farina for the Alfa Romeo team after starting from pole position. Luigi Fagioli finished second in another Alfa Romeo, and Reg Parnell third in a third Alfa Romeo.

F1 we know today was first held in 1946 at the Nice GP in France. F1 did exist around 1920's and 30's but due to FIA not being introduced until 1946, f1 1920s-1945 didn't count in f1 History Champions.

Today (26 April 09) the formula 1 race is being held in Bahrain. This is the 4th round of the 2009 Formula One season.

Toyota's Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock started the race on the front row of the grid after qualifying.

At the start of the race, Hamilton made up some places and Button was able to make some progress in the track. After the first round of the pitstops Button took over the lead. Red bull's Sutil was making steady progress and picked up the 2nd place after the pit stops. Ferrari's Kimi raikkonen started 10th on the grid and was also moving up the grid through the race

In the end, button finished first, sutil finished second and trulli finished third. Kimi raikkonen finished 6th and this was the first time in the 2009 season that Ferrari got points.
