Yes it's a great bike .
I have a 2002 ttr 225 and it is a real good bike .Irecommend for anybody who likes to trail ride its preety fast for me i clocked at 80mph. but the only disadvantage for this bike is the GAS tank its very small and they dont make aftermarket gas tanks for this bike which sucks:(
The Yamaha TTR 225 is generally considered suitable for shorter riders, as it has a seat height of about 34 inches and is designed for lightweight, less powerful riding. For a 6-foot tall, 225-pound rider, it may feel underpowered and cramped, especially for off-road use. While it can work for casual riding, a larger bike with more power and a higher weight capacity, like the TTR 250 or similar models, might be a better fit for comfort and performance.

Yes. I have a friend who is a Yamaha dealer and I bought a boat from him with this engine and he had his regonal distributor run the numbers to be sure this engine was made by Yamaha.
