well many things from those engines are the same. The best thing to do is go to ktmworld.com or ktmcyclehutt.com and cross reference the parts. I only say that is because the 125sx is a 6 speed and the 200exc is a 5 speed. I do know for a fact they are the same cases so the trany will interchange but do your home work . go to those sits go through the parts manuals you will like what you find ! I did! TAKE YOUR TIME !!! you don't want to take the engine apart once you put it back together its not fun !
p.s. great bikes easy to work on very forgiving but
DO YOUR HOME WORK TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!
The KTM 200 EXC and the SX 125 have different bottom ends, as they are designed for different purposes and engine configurations. The 200 EXC is a two-stroke enduro bike with a larger displacement and different power characteristics compared to the SX 125, which is a smaller displacement motocross bike. While some components may share similarities, the overall engine design and tuning differ significantly.
For a 1998 KTM 200 EXC, compatible front forks include those from other KTM models of the same era, such as the 1996-1998 KTM 125/200/250/300 EXC and the 1997-1999 KTM MX models. When swapping forks, you may need to adjust or replace the triple clamps, spacers, and possibly the brake caliper mount to ensure proper fitment. Additionally, the steering stem length and diameter may require modifications or a different bearing setup for a proper fit. Always check for alignment and clearance during installation.
