^^ Unfortunately this guy is right. You can get 4 stroke dirt bikes, they require you to have less skills to ride and more money for maintenance. The main problem is they are so expensive they are pushing many talented riders out of the sport.

Depends on the kids experience with bikes. And I assume your talking a dirt bike. If he has no experience I would say a 100-125cc 4 stroke. Personally I would get a 4 stroke bike such as the newer Honda models.

For the same weight, the 4-stroke will be a weaker/slower bike. The 2-stroke is likely to use more fuel and make more noise. The 4-stroke will run cleaner and quieter.
