They earn a median salary of $519,000 sports medicine physicians earn $241,000 while nurses earn $65,500. Athletic trainers and physical therapists are other crucial members of the sports medicine team and make average salaries of $44,720 and $82,180 respectively. Biomedical engineers are responsible for designing products such as artificial devices including organs, joints, monitoring systems and have a median salary of $86,960.
