Of course they do. The shoe keeps the horse's hoof off the ground. Please keep your horseshoes ALWAYS on your horse. Some horses hooves grow incorrectly, so shoes protect and correct them. If you are in jumpers, or hunters, your horse should get a shoe that absorbed shock, and otherwise, unless your farrier says so, your horse DOES NOT need shoes. Or, if the horse feels off, them you should talk to a farrier. And horses shouldn't get any cuts or bruises, unless they step on a rock. They should have a lone enough hoof, that the frog is a little off the ground. Also, the wall of the hoof is strong, and if it is gross out, You should get some bell boots.

Sometimes horses don't have to wear shoes because they have a special kind of hoof that can take anything.

What numbers did the Kentucky Derby winning horses wear?

The Kentucky Derby winning horses typically wear saddle cloths that display their assigned numbers for the race, which correspond to their post positions. The numbers range from 1 to 20, depending on the number of entries in the race. The winning horse will therefore wear the number that aligns with its starting position in that specific Derby. Why did secretariat wear number 1a in the Kentucky derby?

Secretariat wore the number 1A in the Kentucky Derby because he was part of a coupled entry with another horse named Angle Light. In horse racing, when two horses are entered as a combined entry, they are given a shared number, which in this case was 1A for Secretariat and 1 for Angle Light. This allowed both horses to be identified as part of the same betting entry while still allowing Secretariat to be recognized individually.

Why do people wear boots for equestrian?

If you meant 'why do riders wear boots?', then I'm fairly certain you can answer that yourself. It is the same reason you were shoes: we wear shoes to protect our feet. If you meant 'why do the horses wear boots?', then the answer is, again, to protect their legs.
